An interview with Sam Beswick

Thanks to Sam Beswick of Team Pallatrax for giving his time to be interviewed, here’s what he had to say:
Q: Most anglers would love to be able to call themselves ‘professional’. How did you manage it?
I managed it by sending in pictures of fish into Pallatrax that I have caught on their products and then after a few weeks they contacted me asking if I would like to be a part of the Pallatrax Team and I was delighted to accept this offer, it all happened so quick I wasn’t really expecting it. […]

An interview with Abbey Anderson

Young Abbey Anderson of Team Pallatrax is without a doubt one of the new generation of anglers that we should all be looking out for. In common with the likes of Carl & Alex Smith and Alfie Russel, her focus is on her fishing, rather than any notion of fame and fortune, and we love that she’s obviously got a good head on her shoulders. Look out for more news of Abbey soon on the Crabtree website… […]

An interview with Gavin Hewitt

Gavin Hewitt is, amongst other things, a Man U fan, member of  Team Pallatrax and a father of three – and he still manages to get out on the bank. We caught up with him and managed to grab a quick interview. Here’s what he had to say…
How often do you fish and what do you fish for?
I like to get out as much as possible but with a full time career, three children and a girlfriend to take care of, my time on the bank is limited to every other weekend, if I’m lucky, and a few midweek overnighters. […]

An interview with Allan Shephard

Our thanks go to Allan Shepherd of Sportfish for taking the time to be interviewed – here’s what he had to say…

Q: How often do you fish and what do you fish for?
I try and fish once a week and mix it up to keep things interesting. For instance, the week before last I was trotting with my favourite centre pin on the Wye for barbel and chub. Last week I was 30 miles off the Welsh coast fly fishing for blue and porbeagle sharks. I have always been an all-rounder but have had the odd obsession over the years – pike and salmon are two good examples. I strongly urge newcomers to the sport not to limit themselves to just one type of fishing – get out there and experience the lot! […]

An interview with Alan Blair

Nash’s supremely talented Alan Blair was a guest presenter in Series One of Fishing in the Footsteps of Mr. Crabtree, and we were delighted to welcome him back to filming recently to be part of Series 2 (due to be broadcast later in the year).

Although best know for his carping abilities, Alan is a complete all-rounder and he relished the opportunity to fish at Godalming Angling Society’s Johnson’s Lake for Crucians. We had a chat while he concentrated on the fishing… […]

An interview with Jamie Parr

Thanks to Jamie Parr from Team Pallatrax for giving of his time to be interviewed here. We particularly love his answer to ‘What lessons would you pass on?’. Top Stuff.

Q: Most anglers would love to be able to call themselves ‘professional’. How did you manage it?
I would never call myself a professional angler. I’m just a passionate fisherman with a healthy obsession (My family may not agree with the healthy part!) […]

An interview with Ray Pulford

Thanks to Ray Pulford of Team Pallatrax for joining in with ‘An Interview with…’:

Q: How often do you fish and what do you fish for?
I fish 4-6 nights/days a month and I fish for all species. I fish for Carp, Perch, Pike, Roach and Chub in winter then Carp, Barbel (upto end of season), Tench and Bream in spring. Summer sees me fishing for whatever takes my fancy but Autumn is serious Carp and Barbel time. […]
