An Interview with…. Shaun Harrison

Already named by Jan Porter as one of his angling heroes, we knew that Jan’s feelings were echoed by many, MANY anglers so we were delighted when Shaun agreed to join us on the sofas. […]

An Interview with… Frank Warwick

59.6 lbs Common caught for the cameras while making Warwick’s Way with Carp DVD

There are some people who you only ever hear good things about and Frank Warwick falls very much into that category. If you’re a carper Frank’s reputation definitely precedes him, but though he freely admits he’s an out-and-out carper, he’s also very much the all-rounder and holds dear the passion and magic that brings every angler to the bankside.

Big thanks to Frank for sparing the time to be interviewed – here’s what we found out… […]

An Interview with… Keith Arthur

Keith Arthur needs no introduction to Britain’s anglers. As host of Sky Sports’ Tight Lines and his own TalkSport radio show ‘Fisherman’s Blues’, he has established himself as a top angling professional and expert on all things ‘fishy’.

He’s also a contributor to our new book Fishing in the Footsteps of Mr. Crabtree and we’re very happy to welcome him to our virtual sofa to found out more about him: […]

An Interview with… Jan Porter

Jan Porter with his PB common – 32lb 1oz

Meet Jan Porter of Shimano, failed rock-star, lifetime member of the Angling Trust and an all-round great guy. Pictured with his UK PB common carp 32lb 1oz – big tail (his words!) caught ‘Mr. Crabtree style’ at Hardwick Lake Linear Fisheries nr Witney on a float in the margins with a worm whilst fishing for Tench on the glorious 16th of June 2012.

Couldn’t be more perfect! […]

An Interview with….. Kevin Nash

Kevin needs no introduction.  The driving force behind Nash Tackle and one of the few Godfathers of carp angling; a true innovator, risk taker and the man who has revolutionised modern carp angling yet still retains his faith and love for the magic.  We caught up with him with a few searching questions… […]

Mr. Crabtree’s casts – a moment with Simon Crow

We’re delighted to welcome Carp Talk’s Simon Crow to Mr. Crabtree’s casts this week.  The archetypal Carp angler, Simon fell in love with the pursuit at an early age.

Most anglers would envy the fact that you have turned your hobby into your profession.  Tell us how you came to be where you are today.  Through lots of hard work and a very determined mind. I’m one of those people who, once I get something set in my mind, will work as hard as I possibly can to get it. I’m also a big believer in fate, and since an early age I’ve always felt very comfortable with angling, almost as though I was destined to work within the sport.

Mr Crabtree’s casts – a moment with Lucy Bowden

Continuing our series of profiles on different folk in the industry, we’re talking to spring chicken, Lucy Bowden today – too young to remember the original Mr. Crabtree but still looking forward to the series.  That’s what we like to hear….

Tell us a bit about you, what do you do and how did you get into it?

I first started fishing aged five years old after my Dad introduced me to the sport. Since then I’ve never looked back and today, as well as working as Marketing Executive for world renowned fishing tackle manufacturer, Hardy & Greys Ltd, I run my own business, www.fishingforeveryone.com.

As the UK’s youngest female level 2 licensed game angling UKCC coach I regularly introduce novices to the sport and assist with improving skills of those more able. I particularly enjoy working with females and children and, as founder and chairman of an angling club, this enables me to do this on a regular basis. […]

An interview with….. Tim Knight of the Angler’s Mail

Tim, some would say that you have got one of the most enviable positions in angling. Tell us about your journey to the AM.
The short answer is I got lucky at the right time. But the longer answer is I worked very hard, and still do. […]
