Filming the first series of ‘Fishing in the Footsteps of Mr. Crabtree’ was undoubtedly a lot of fun, but it was hard work too – those 3am starts were a killer, and long days spent blanking can stress out even the most chilled of anglers.
So it was only right that after the cameras stopped rolling we held a wrap party. We wanted to involve everyone who played a part in getting Mr. Crabtree to the small screen, and to have the chance to thank them for all they did. And so on March 18th 2013 we finally held ‘The Wrap Party – Part Deux’ – having had to abort the first attempt due to the January blizzards.
It turned out to be a great night, full of smiles and laughter, of friendships created and reunited and of well-deserved congratulations. For those closest to the production the biggest treat was in seeing for the first time most of the ‘Peters’ reunited with JB and together in one place at one time (Claragh and Jaynie were sadly missed due to a family celebration); Sam, Tadhg, Henry, Michael and James formed a tight knit little group and disappeared off to host their own VIP party.
Our thanks go to all of our friends and family who joined us and made it that little bit more special, and our biggest cheer has to go to Exec Producer, Lester Holcombe who managed to give a 15 minute speech very late on in the evening and not forget to thank anyone – kudos!
