Your participation in the ‘The Search’ competition is governed by the following terms and conditions.  Submitting an entry confirms your agreement to be bound by these conditions. Subject to the clauses in these terms and conditions, the winner(s) of the ‘The Search’ will receive the chance to appear in an episode of ‘Fishing in the footsteps of Mr. Crabtree*’ (‘the prize’). In the terms below, any reference to ‘the Producers’ pertains to the producers of the TV series ‘Fishing in the footsteps of Mr. Crabtree’.

1. The Search is open to entrants (male and female) aged between eight (8) and fourteen (14) on 1st March 2014
2. No fishing or television experience is necessary but an interest in the pursuit is desirable.
3. The competition prize is as stated.
4. Each prize must be accepted as awarded. No cash alternative is available. There are no appearance fees paid. Prizes are non-transferable.
5. The producers reserve the right to amend the specification of the prize.
6. The judges’ decision is final.
7. All entrants (and their families) agree to inform the producers if they are currently involved in a criminal investigation of any kind. Similarly all entrants (and their families) agree to inform the producers of any personal information, which may, if it came to light, have a negative impact on the resulting TV series.
8. Mr. Crabtree Ltd accepts no responsibility for entries lost, damaged, delayed or unable to be viewed.
9. No telephone contact or correspondence will be entered into except with the winning entrants.
10. Entrants (and their legal guardians) agree that Mr. Crabtree Ltd may use their name, likeness and voice and any biographical details (which includes, without limitation, any personal information), photographs and recordings separately from or in conjunction with Fishing in the Footsteps of Mr. Crabtree or the sponsorship thereof in all media and formats throughout the world including, without limitation, on Mr. Crabtree Ltd related websites or other online media and in advertising, publicity, sponsorship and exploitation material without payment, consultation, or other compensation. Mr Crabtree Ltd. is authorised to transfer the Personal Information to related body corporates and third parties associated with Mr Crabtree Ltd or the Quest for ‘Peter’ and to use the personal information in accordance with this clause.
11. The Search will commence on 1st January 2014. Entrants can only enter once. Attempts to make multiple entries will result in disqualification.  The final closing date of the competition is midnight on 1st March 2014. The ‘Peters’ will be revealed on the Mr. Crabtree website and via the trade, regional and national press in due course.
12. Entrants agree that any approaches made to them by an other agency as a result of being involved in The Search will be communicated to and managed by the producers.
13. For winning entrants reasonable travel and accommodation expenses may be covered (by prior arrangement with the producers), however NO OTHER expenses will be met, eg professional photography for competition entries, clothing and footwear, remuneration for time taken off work, medical expenses, spending money, travel or personal insurance, items of a personal nature, laundry, telephone calls, additional nights or room upgrades.
14. ‘Peter’ will appear in completely unbranded clothing and footwear unless the promoters and judges, as a result of a sponsorship agreement or otherwise, provide alternatives.
15. Any attempt to secure an independent sponsorship deal, or in any way gain financially or otherwise as a result of entry into or winning this competition will result in immediate disqualification without compensation.
16. Any approaches made by representatives of TV, film, digital and any other media must be directed to and managed by the producers
17. The producers are responsible for all marketing, communication, advertising and PR. Whilst there may be occasions where the winning entrants can support these efforts, this must always be with the express permission and under the guidance of the producers.
18. By agreeing to these terms you confirm that you will not take part in any other fishing or nature programme for a minimum of 12 months FROM BROADCAST, unless written permission from the producers is given IN ADVANCE.
19. Winning entrants will need to be accompanied on set by their legal guardian.
20. The behaviour of the child remains the responsibility of the legal guardian AT ALL TIMES. Mr Crabtree Ltd. will supply a code of behaviour that must be adhered to at all times.  Any contravention of this could result in immediate expulsion from set, and potentially to having the prize withdrawn altogether.
21. The producers reserve the right to retract the prize AT ANY TIME without notice or compensation. Examples of why this may occur include, but are in no way limited to:

  • Inappropriate behaviour during the competition process
  • Discovery that the child does not fall into the age parameters
  • Discovery that any false information has been supplied
  • Discovery that the application has NOT been made by a parent or legal guardian
  • Inability of the child to be accompanied by a parent or guardian on set
  • Child and/or legal guardian not adhering to the Mr. Crabtree Ltd code of behaviour
  • Cancellation of the filming
  • Cancellation of the project
  • An unexpected change of venue
