I first began fishing aged five years, after my Dad introduced me to the sport. Dad was introduced into angling by his Grandfather, so I guess you could say fishing is something of a family tradition.

I can’t quite remember my first fishing trip as I was too young however, looking back at photographs it’s obvious I enjoyed myself as I always had a smile on my face!

Twenty years on I’m still fishing and lucky enough to work for fishing tackle manufacturer, Hardy & Greys Ltd. Primarily a Trout angler, most of my spare time is spent on the bank, as well as Chairing the Fishing For Everyone Ladies Fishing Club. The club hold regular events, at least once a month, covering all angling disciplines and all of our events are held in a safe and supportive environment. We are very lucky to have an all-female team of dedicated angling coaches and instructors which is a big draw for our members who often prefer to be tutored by females.

As a qualified game angling coach, I also run my own business and have done from the age of 16. I regularly coach people of all ages, genders and abilities and I love being able to introduce them into this wonderful sport.

I feel lucky and privileged to have been introduced into angling from such a young age and I hope that the Mr. Crabtree series will inspire even more youngsters (and the older generation!) to give angling a try.
