We’re delighted to announce a collaboration with new Crabtree Ambassador Gransnet, the social networking site for the UK’s 14 million grandparents, and sister site to Mumsnet.

Paula Battle, Crabtree Communications Director says: “We’ve been working hard on the Crabtree Crusade, and introducing Crabtree to community groups and Gransnet is just the perfect partner for us.

“Our goal at Crabtree is not only to encourage new, young anglers into the sport, but also to remind lapsed anglers of why they used to love wetting a line, and to give them the information and the confidence they need to get out on the banks again. We want to let them know that there’s a new movement in fishing, and it’s a positive change, a return to more traditional values whilst retaining all of the fantastic innovation that the sport now has to offer.

“Working with Gransnet gives us a direct line to a community that remembers the original Mr. Crabtree and will relish the idea of returning to a bank where it’s a good thing to be seen to fish in The Crabtree Way.”

Gigi Eligoloff, Gransnet Editor said: “Mr. Crabtree is just lovely and it’s an ideal fit for us. We have lots of talk going on in our grandad forums about fishing, and this partnership means that we can do more for our own audience whilst supporting a really wonderful initiative.

“The Crabtree Crusade is a terrific idea and the web and Facebook and Twitter pages are just fantastic. The fact that they take such a collaborative approach to supporting and encouraging new anglers is fab and the fact that they consider it so vital for grandparents to get involved is music to our proverbials.

“We’re really looking forward to working with the Crabtree Team to help steer us in the right direction when we’re signposting our users about fishing, and we’re very happy to be a Crabtree Ambassador and continue supporting them in their endeavours.”
