This fish is known as White Tips. He is the biggest carp in a small local lake I fish with my Parents.
We had been fishing here for about 3 years, and White Tips was the only fish we all wanted to catch, especially my Mum and Dad. I was fishing with my Dad at the time, I fished in my Mum’s favourite swim, my Dad was in the next swim down.
When my rod went off, I called for my Dad because it was hard playing the fish. He stood by me with the net and noticed the familiar white markings on the tail. I’d caught White Tips!!! He weighed in at 26lb 2oz!!! I was so chuffed! Although my Dad was pleased, he was a bit gutted, because I’d beaten his PB and caught the biggest fish in the lake!
My Dad did go on to catch White Tips, 2 years later. He weighed in at 28lb! My Mum is still trying but she holds the record for catching the most 20’s out of this lake and she holds the biggest PB in the family- 41lb 12oz!
